Authoring a MiniLeague

Have an idea for an LL MiniLeague, for which you would like to write the questions?

1.

First of all, contact the Commissioner with your idea. A good MiniLeague topic is one that is more specific than a regular LL category (or spans across numerous categories), and of a broad enough interest to attract a decent number of players (the minimum is six).

2.

If your proposal is accepted by the Commissioner, it will be placed on the schedule for the next MiniLeague opening (keep in mind that this may be many months in the future).

3.

Once the MiniLeague has been scheduled, you can begin writing the questions. It is requested that the questions be submitted to the Commissioner at least 3 days prior to the MiniLeague's first day. There are 48 questions in a MiniLeague (8 matches x 6 questions/match); you may want to include a couple of extras in case any are thrown out for any reason -- the Commissioner does not edit or select M-L questions, except to exclude anything offensive or anything that may have already appeared in a previous LL contest.

4.

The preferred method for receiving the MiniLeague questions is in an Excel spreadsheet. The first column contains the questions, the second column contains the answers in all caps. There are no categories within MiniLeagues, so there is no need to include any with the questions. The 48 questions should be listed in the order in which you would like them to be used, with any extras appended at the end.

5.

If any questions require images or audio files, make a note in the text of the question, and include the files in an email to the Commissioner.

6.

Once you have submitted the questions, sit back and wait for the season to arrive. During the MiniLeague season, you as the author are the judge in instances where answer accuracy is questioned. You will be notified by the Commissioner if your input is required.
