As we eagerly await the final two Harry Potter movies, I thought it might be fun for us to have some magical times here at the League. Since you're interested in this MiniLeague, here's a basic overview to how I'm approaching things:

1. The books are so much better than the movies, and, hence, my questions will largely come from the books
2. The movies are good, too, so I'll definitely throw in some questions that hits them
3. The overall impact of Pottermania spreads far and wide, but I'll only have a few that relate to Harry outside the sphere of books and films
4. I do not plan on asking minutiae.

Here are some of the categories I'll use in each day's questions:
  Characters & Locations
  Spells & Counterspells (potions, magical items, etc.)
  Hogwarts, A History (questions about the school and magical history)
  Quotes - I give the quote, you tell me who said it
  Etymology - Where did JK come up with those clever names and numbers?
  Movies and Muggles

Preview Questions (these all rate fairly easy, in my book):
  1. What does Vernon Dursley do for a living?
  2. What spell is usually able to open things?
  3. When Harry first goes to Hogwarts, who is the head of Gryffindor house?
  4. "You're a wizard, Harry." Who said it first?
  5. Which character's name derives from the "Dog Star"
  6. What is J.K. Rowling's real first name?
